Doug and Betty (Lee) Bramblett celebrated 50 years of marriage Friday, October 26 with family at their home. They were married at the county courthouse in Norman, Oklahoma (1968) shortly after 5 p.m. because they had to wait for the judge to get off of work.

At the time of their marriage, Doug had a son, Darin, and Betty had a daughter, Debbie and a son, David. Keeping with the theme of children with the letter D they named the next two daughters, Dawn and Deanna.

They had been junior high sweethearts in Long Beach, Calif. And life led them in different directions until their paths crossed again later in life. Eventually life brought them to St. Maries and here the family has been since 1977.

They have 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
