Monday, Jan. 4

11:53 p.m.: The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office requested backup for a Coeur d’Alene Tribal Police officer who was said to be holding three suspects at gunpoint, a fourth suspect was running away on foot. No further detail was provided.

Wednesday, Jan. 6

6:32 p.m.: A man reported that he believed he interrupted a drug exchange. The man said he saw a truck parked on the side of St. Maries River Road that he thought was waiting for someone because they drove away as he approached. He later saw the vehicle near the dumpsters further down the road.

Thursday, Jan. 7

4:25 p.m.: A bar in the DeSmet area reported that a woman took four shots of liquor, barreled out of the bar, and sped off, northbound, on Hwy 95. The caller said they offered the woman a ride, but she refused.

Friday, Jan. 8

9:43 a.m.: A caller from out of county reported that there was a black Dodge Ram parked in a space reserved for law enforcement. The caller said they were in the Hollywood Walmart parking lot in St. Maries on Hwy 235. Dispatch could not find a location matching the description.

2:39 p.m.: A caller requested someone to check on a bald eagle in the DeSmet area because it had not moved more than 50 feet in three days. It was said to be near an abandoned house in a hayfield.

3:46 p.m.: A man left a St. Maries pawn shop screaming and cursing because he could not reclaim a rifle that he said he pawned. The man said he was illiterate and could not fill out the necessary paperwork. He was reportedly highly intoxicated when he drove away.

7:45 p.m.: Two horses were seen going for a walk down State 3, between Harvest Foods and Xmas Hills, St. Maries.

Saturday, Jan. 9

1:30 p.m.: A Fernwood resident reported that their neighbor was concerned that a low-flying helicopter was creeping on their houses.

7:36 p.m.: Coeur d’Alene Tribal Police were requested to respond to a fight in front of the Coeur d’Alene Tribal Justice Center in Plummer.

10:27 p.m.: A Plummer resident reported that a truck was driving around the block and kind of hanging around the area. They wanted a deputy to pull the driver over and find out what they were doing.

Sunday, Jan. 10

1:27 p.m.: A Fernwood resident reported that their dog was shot. The woman said she and her son were out hunting with their hound and that as they were getting their vehicle out of a snowbank someone shot their dog. They did not know who as they only saw footprints and no one around.

Monday, Jan. 11

8:35 a.m.: A Plummer woman reported hearing loud noises like dynamite. She wanted a deputy to visit and talk to her about the noises.
