Some new faces were present at last Monday’s St. Maries School District trustee’s meeting.

The board started its meeting by swearing in its elected officials that had won in the 2021 school board election.

Beth Halvorsen was sworn in to her position as trustee for Zone 1. Incumbent Jody Hendrickx was sworn in for Trustee Zone 2 as he ran unopposed in the 2021 election.

The board also unanimously voted for Hendrickx to remain the board chairman and the board unanimously voted for Sandy Kennelly to be vice chairman.

The board also unanimously selected Tanna Wicks to serve as the new board clerk for 2022. To serve as the board clerk in case of Wicks’ absence, the board voted Danette Cordell as her fill-in.

Cordell was also voted in to be the boards business manager for 2022.

In other board of trustee news, the board voted to approve and sign its code of ethics. The document with signatures from all of the board members will be available to view on the St. Maries School District website.

This year’s meeting schedule was also approved by the board with trustee meetings being scheduled for the second Monday of every month except for September. September’s meeting will be hosted on the third Monday of the month due to the start of the 2022 – 2023 school year.
