The Harrison Pig-in-the-Park is on Father’s Day, June 16. The meal will be served beginning at 11 a.m. until supplies run out in the Harrison City Park. They will be serving barbeque pork sandwiches featuring Scheffelmaier meats along with coleslaw, beans, cornbread and dessert for $12.
Mark Daanen, the new Harrison Chamber of Commerce president, is excited about the Harrison Pig-in-the-Park being on Father’s Day this year.
“We are holding it on Father’s Day to give families a great place to bring their dad’s for their special day.” Said Mr. Daanen. “Harrison is a great place with lots of opportunities. We want people to come out and enjoy the town.”
Mr. Daanen recently became the president of the Harrison Chamber of Commerce. He has lived at Half Round Bay for four months. He lived in Hayden for 25 years before that. He has always loved the town of Harrison and since he is retired, he feels that he can help the chamber of commerce out a lot because he has more time than the other members, who are busy running their businesses.
The event is sponsored by the Harrison Chamber of Commerce and funds raised will go toward the Fourth of July fireworks, to help beautify the city and to provide the Summer Concerts. “So pack-up, gas-up and head to Harrison.”
