CDA Tribe gives local schools $170K

Posted: Wednesday, July 11, 2018 8:57 am

The Coeur d’Alene Tribe granted more than $170,000 to local schools for improving education.

As part of the 1992 gaming compact between the tribe and the state, each year tribal leaders donate 5% of the Coeur d’Alene Casino’s net earnings to education on or near its reservation. In the past, these donations have amounted to more than $1 million per year to area schools. Since 1992, the tribe has donated more than $25 million to local schools.
