The Innovia Foundation wants to provide more connectivity to local children.

August 5 is Close the Divide day, which will be an opportunity for local businesses and community members to donate money and used devices for students.

Innovia is partnering with Idaho Business for Education in the effort to provide electronic devices and connectivity to over 200,000 students in Idaho who lack access to internet.

The concern for access to devices and internet comes as school districts in the state face new challenges in education during the coronavirus pandemic. More districts will have to adapt to the possibility of less classroom time and more remote learning.

Innovia will collect used laptops and other devices on August 5 at select drop off points. Community members and businesses can also help by sponsoring a student or classroom.

To learn more on where to donate used equipment contact the Innovia Foundation at 208-287-0140.
