Organizers of the Tree of Memories made their donations to local entities this last week with donations totaling $1,800.

The group donated $600 each to the St. Maries Food Bank, UpRiver Food Bank and the local CASA chapter.

Organizer Jeanne Johnson said the 2021 Tree of Memories program had grown over the previous year’s installment. She said the group saw almost 100 more ribbons purchased this year over last year’s totals.

“It was a flaming success,” Johnson said.

She said the group hopes to see this year’s event grow as well. The group plans to have a fourth tree at the courthouse dedicated to veterans in the area during the 2022 Tree of Memories ceremony.
