The annual Pork Chop Feed at the Elks Lodge saw record funds raised for local scholarships.

Organizer and sponsor, Dan Felton, said that the event raised over $11,000 from the dinner and auction.

“That’s a new record,” Mr. Felton said. “The community came through and the whole thing was one of the smoothest we’ve ever had.”

Mr. Felton said that over 100 people came to the event to support local high school children.

He said that he credits the Elks Lodge and the community’s care for local children that makes the event so successful every year.

“We are grateful for the support,” Mr. Felton said. “The Elks lodge is all about this community and its kids. This town is very generous when it comes to kids.”

The money generated goes into an ongoing fund that generates scholarships for high school children around Benewah County.
