Idaho’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate stayed at 2.9 percent in October for the fourth month in a row. The month saw 2,438 people enter the work force, raising the overall labor force in the state to 884,545. Unemployment grew by 112 to 25,736. The state average unemployment was lower than the national average, which was reported at 3.6% for October.

In Benewah County, seasonal unemployment exceeds the state average, with 4.7% unemployment – a 0.4% drop from September, but roughly equivalent to employment numbers in April. There were 3,861 people employed during the month, with 191 claiming unemployment. Shoshone County reportd 5.5% unemployment, and Kootenai County saw 3.5% unemployment.
