Those who seek to spruce up their property can do so this spring.

The Benewah Soil and Water Conservation District (BSWCD) office in Plummer will again offer a variety of tree seedlings to the public.

The BSWCD will sell multiple species of 8 inch native conifer tree seedlings. This will include Western Larch, Ponderosa Pine, Douglas Fir, Lodgepole Pine and Western White Pine.

The seedlings available can be bought in large and small quantities and are ideal for land owners that want to spruce up their property, logging companies that wish to replant where they have logged, or those who run tree lots.

The price range per seedling will be from 65 cents to 95 cents. Orders can be made in 10 to 15 seedling increments depending on the variety selected.

The conifers are from a locally sourced seed and are appropriate for the area and its elevations.

All seedling varieties will be available for pickup in April at the Plummer USDA Service Center. All orders will need to be prepaid and are on a first come first served basis as quantities are limited.

Payments can be mailed to P.O. Box 488, Plummer ID, 83851. Those with questions may call district manager, Leann Daman, at 208-987-4011 or email her at leann.daman@usda.gov.
