Benewah County has a new Commissioner for District 3 as longtime representative Bud McCall was defeated by his opponent, Bob Short. Mr Short wins the seat 1,912 to 1,797.

Incumbent Commissioner representing District 1, Jack Buell, retains his seat after defeating Republican challenger Dale Ross, 1,934 to 1,775. 

While Latah County precincts are still being reported, with 97% into the newsroom as of 2 a.m., it appears one incumbent has retained her seat while two challengers ousted their opponents.

Caroline Nilsson Troy retains District 5’s Seat B after defeating Laurene Sorensen, 8,625 to 5,755.  Bill Goesling defeats St. Maries resident Margie Gannon 8,118 to 6,293 for Seat A.

As of press time, it appears incumbent Republican Dan Foreman will lose his District 5 Senate Seat to Democrat David Nelson. Returns currently show Mr. Nelson defeating Mr. Foreman, 7,413 to 7,057.
