The Benewah County Republican Party scheduled events for this month that will give residents the opportunity to meet local legislators.

Republican Party member, Hari Heath, said that residents will get the chance to meet Idaho Lieutenant Governor Janice McGeachin September 12.

The event will be hosted at the bandshell in Central Park at 11:00 a.m.

“This will be an informal meet and greet open to the public,” Mr. Heath said. “It will be a chance for people to find out more about not only the Republican Party but also have a chance for the public to meet our lieutenant governor.”

On the following Saturday, September 19, residents will get another opportunity to learn more about the party at the Benewah County Republican Party’s Annual Jefferson/Madison Day Fundraiser.

“We would have had this event a little earlier but with the COVID thing it got postponed,” Mr. Heath said. “We are glad to have it back on like usual.”

The event will feature a few guest speakers including Mark Herr from the Center for Self Governance and keynote speaker, Scott Herndon, who is a candidate for the Idaho District 1 Senate.

The event will be hosted at the Assembly of God Church starting at 10:30 a.m.

Food and refreshments will be served and the cost to enter is $25 per person or $40 for a couple. There will also be a pie auction.

Those interested in finding out more about the two events can contact Mr. Heath at 208-582-4399.
