Area school districts plan to vote on a levy in March.

The St. Maries School District will vote March 9 on a $2,073,385. St. Maries Superintendent, Alica Holthaus said that this will not be an increase and that this amount is the same as what the district has asked for since 2015.

“This will not be a new tax, the board is just renewing what they have already been doing,” Ms. Holthaus said.

The Kootenai School District will have a levy vote on March 9 as well. Superintendent, Wade Pilloud, said that they have yet to finalize the amount of the levy and that a release including those details will be available this month.

The Plummer-Worley School District has announced that it has postponed its levy vote. Superintendent, Russ Mitchell, said that they plan to study the levy further as forthcoming changes in legislation and federal ESSER 2 funds may change the way the district approaches the matter.
