The Paul Bunyan Days parade organizers have added some incentives for those who sign up early.

This year Mark Todd and his assistant Kim O’Connor are encouraging those who want to have a float in the parade to sign up early. The early registration will help give organizers an idea of how many are participating and how to accommodate an influx of new floats.

“It’s been a well organized event,” O’Connor said. “This is a good way to possibly get some new participation.”

This year organizers have made the sign-up forms accessible on the Paul Bunyan Days website by visiting Forms can also be found on the St. Maries Chamber of Commerce website at

Forms can be picked up in-person at the Fernwood Mercantile or from the St. Maries Chamber of Commerce. The forms can be returned to the Chamber or mailed to 1122 S. Bishop Street in St. Maries and be addressed to Paul Bunyan Days Parade Registration.

A new perk for those who pre-register is being entered into a drawing for a chance to win one of three prizes. The prizes will be donated by the Chamber of Commerce.

Winners will be announced Sunday, September 5, the day before the parade.
