Anglers of all ages throughout Idaho can enjoy a day of free fishing June 8.

The yearly Free Fishing Day, observed throughout the state by the Idaho Department of Fish and Game, invites both children and adults to enjoy a day of fishing without a license. While the agency will hold events at specific places in the Idaho Panhandle, fishing will be open to everyone in Idaho on all public waters until the end of the day.

While the license requirements will be suspended for the day, all other requirements, including bag limit or tackle restrictions, remain in effect. For more information about rules or events in your area, contact the local Fish and Game office at (208) 769-1414 or visit the Fish and Game website at idfg.idaho.gov.
