A subcommittee with the Idaho Transportation Department plans to meet this month to discuss the commercial trucking weight change on local highways.

The 129K subcommittee will convene on January 21, to discuss the weight change as well as further review comments from the public on the change.

Following the subcommittee’s review, the decision will then be passed to the state ITD board for approval.

The proposal calls for a change to the weight limitations from 105,500 lbs to 129,000.

The decision will affect 46.5 miles of local highways. Under review is the 10-mile stretch between junction US 95 and State 6 to the junction of State 6 and State 9, the 13.5 miles from the junction of State 6 and State 9 to the junction of State 9 and State 8, and the 23 miles between the junction from State 9 and State 8 to the junction of State 8 and US 95.
