Kootenai’s boys basketball team played its third North Star League game this week, traveling to face Clark Fork Tuesday.
The Warriors, still in search of their first win as of Jan. 14, may have gotten through the toughest of their NSL schedule.
Back-to-back matchups with league leader, Lakeside, left Kootenai with a 0-2 North Star record and a combined deficit of 45-197 through those two NSL contests.
The most recent, a 24-89 loss on its home floor, saw the Warriors to a 3-33 hole after one quarter with the Knights.
Garrett Renner hit three shots from beyond the arc and scored 11 points, and teammate Jacob Brewster added 10 points in the defeat.
“Lakeside came to play, and that’s just what they did,” Coach Curtis Ames said. “The guys left it all out on the court, and that is all I could have asked for.”
