Russ Mitchell, principal at Lakeside Elementary in Plummer, will take over as superintendent of the Plummer-Worley School District.

Mr. Mitchell has a BA in elementary education from Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, a Masters degree in education and administration from the College of Idaho in Caldwell, and other credentials from Gonzaga University. He has a long education background as a teacher in Idaho and Washington districts, and has been involved in coaching youth sports for several years.

He will take over the position of superintendent from Judi Sharrett, who is set to depart the position July 1. Sharrett has worked with the school district for 19 years, and has served as the district’s superintendet since 2008.

“It’s just time to go on and leave it to new leadership,” Mrs. Sharrett said. “I’ve enjoyed working with the Plummer Worley school district and have may friendships and relationships that I’ll miss.”
