Carol Kelly (Leuty) died November 1m, 2018 at Schneidmiller Hospice House in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho after battling lung disease.
Carol was born May 5, 1944 in Potlatch, Idaho to Gordon and Doris Leuty of Desmet. Carol graduated from Plummer High School.
After graduating, she married her high school sweetheart James D. Kelly on February 7, 1963. They remained married for 55 years until Carol’s death. In the early years of their marriage, Carol worked as a switchboard operator for the phone company in Tekoa, Wash. while Jim was in the service overseas.
Carol had also worked at the Crosskeys restaurant and the University of Idaho as well as being a housewife and raising a family. Carol enjoyed working in her yard and camping in her younger years as well as spending time at “My Blue Heaven” cabin.
Carol was preceded in death by her maternal parents, Gordon and Doris Leuty, and daughter, Lori Lee Kelly. Carol’s husband Jim died June 10, 2019. She is survived by two sons and their spouses, Ron and Jolene Kelly of Spokane, Wash.; and Dan and Teri Kelly of Sachse, Texas; and two grandchildren she spoke of often, Taylor and Dylan Kelly, also of Sachse, Texas. She is also survived by her brother, Jack Brumbauigh, of Parkline, Idaho.
A graveside memorial service will be Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Mountain View Cemetery in Farmington, Wash.
