Joy May Thomason died October 27, 2019 at the Royal Plaza Care Center in Lewiston, Idaho at 10:27 a.m. Her husband, Tommy and children, Sharon and husband Bill Crocker, Susan Hall and Randy Thomason was present with her, as was as his brother Pete and his daughter Rena Thomason.
Joy was born March 21, 1926 in Gooding, Idaho to Narvel and Margie Allen and was raised and attended high school in Bliss, Idaho. She had two brothers, Dean and Gary, and a sister, Marjorie. Gary is the only one surviving, living in Vesper, Wisc.
Tommy and Joy did a lot of traveling while raising their family and enjoyed having the children with them until they drifted away to have their own families. Tommy and Joy lived in Fernwood and worked for Bud McCall for many years before retiring.
Joy enjoyed flying in their airplanes to distant areas of the country to visit friends and families. Eventually the planes were sold, and they traveled by motorhome to the warmer climates during winter months, eventually retiring in Arizona. After several years they moved to California for a five-year stay, then back to St. Maries.
They were married for 74 years, and although Tommy had to work in Alaska and foreign lands, Joy kept the home fires burning until he returned.
She will be missed greatly but the time will come when we will all be reunited with our loved ones at the time of the final resurrection.
