Lakeside sophomore Kamryn Hendrickx waited an entire season to beat her personal-best mark in shot put.
She waited until the right time – the 1A State Championships – to set a new mark-to-beat and claim a fourth-place medal.
“It was a good day,” Coach Brad Veile said. “Kamryn came out with the top Lakeside performance, even though it rained during our competitions.”
Kamryn finished with a throw of 32-06.50. Teammate Glory Olson took 12th in high jump with a height of 4-06.00 and J.J. Hall set a new personal best in the preliminary 400 meter race with a time of 54.44, less than half a second away from a school record.
“The outlook is good for next year, Coach Veile said. “All three of these athletes will be back and we only graduate one member from this year’s team.”
