A career night from sophomore Vander Brown propelled Lakeside’s boys basketball team to a blowout win over Clark Fork Jan. 7.

The Knights got 20 points, six assists and five steals from Vander as they ran away with an 80-38 win to improve to 6-1 going into a Jan. 12 game with North Idaho Christian.

Day Day Higgins added 16 points and J.J. Hall 15 as Lakeside played without starting guard Kenyon Spotted Horse for the first time this season.

Coach James Twoteeth was unavailable for comment following last week’s games.

The Knights begin SIC play this week as they host Genesis Prep Friday.

The Jaguars are 1-4, and their last game was Jan. 7 at Bonners Ferry, where they lost 44-81.

Day Day recorded a 14-point, 10-rebound double-double Jan. 5 as the Knights defeated 3A Kellogg 64-37.

Four Knights scored in double figures in the win.

Upcoming: Lakeside (6-1 before Jan. 12 game vs. North Idaho Christian) hosts Genesis Prep Friday. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. at Ron Miller Court in Plummer.
