Lakeside’s girls basketball team needed four full quarters to get past Genesis Prep Feb. 8 in a district championship game.

The Knights’ fluctuant scoring, namely a third quarter where they were outscored 9-20, saw their season end on a 46-56 defeat.

Jolissa Holt finished with a team-high 15 points as Lakeside’s fourth-quarter rally, a 20-15 scoring advantage, came up short.

The Knights, after attending three consecutive 1AD2 state tournaments, have now failed to qualify for the past two.

Samantha Adrian added nine points in the effort, Ashlee Holt and Tommia Pakootas both had eight and Alyssa SiJohn and Tyshea Twoteeth recorded three points apiece.

Eleven scorers surfaced Feb. 6 as the girls got past Kootenai in round one.

Tommia put up 23 points in the 71-21 win, Ashlee had 13 and Alyssa six. Samantha tallied six points, Suzzana Pakootas recorded five, Brooklyn Marchand five and Kamryn Hendrickx four.

Kria Peters, Tyshea and Jolissa each had two points and Glory Olson added one.

Lakeside closes its season on an 8-11, 5-2 NSL record.
