Sports are underway at St. Maries High School, with the Lumberjack volleyball team traveling to Kellogg early this week.
Administrators at SMHS are nearing the finalization of their plan for fans attending home events, one that would include allowing a certain number of vouchers per player to give to family and friends.
In addition, St. Maries plans to allow the football bleachers to fill up to 50 percent capacity, and volleyball matches in the gym to fill to 33 percent.
Athletic Director Todd Gilkey said the process is ongoing to determine exactly what those numbers would be.
“We’re looking at possibly four to five hundred for football,” he said. “There is a formula for how much bleacher each person needs, and how much we’ll need to properly social distance them while they watch the game.”
Mr. Gilkey added that some general admission is possible after each player receives their voucher.
St. Maries' football team is slated to play its first home game next Friday, while St. Maries' volleyball, boys soccer and girls soccer teams will open at home during the last week of the month.
