St. Maries’ middle school track team walked away with a slew of high finishes – and a pair of district champions – at the District One Championships May 3.

Seventh graders Jacklin Linnemeyer and Alexzander Lambson each won their respective discus events to lead the Lumberjacks at Timberlake.

Jacklin threw her personal-best, a 76-03, to take gold, and Alexzander had a personal-best distance of 93-05.

“They ended the season well,” Coach Shannon Cloud said. “The team had a great season, with great results.”

Greyson Sands earned a pair of high finishes, including second in the 800 meter run (2:45.44) and second in the 1600 meter run (5:25.51).

The Lumberjack 4X100 relay team of Greyson, Kade Suchoski, Aiden Silfvast and Jared Badgett, took third with a time of 52.59, and Sarah Spence earned second place in high jump with a mark of 4-02.00.

Jared was runner up in high jump for the eighth grade boys with his mark of 16-03.00.
