St. Maries’ JV volleyball team won each of its three sets with Kellogg in a season opener Aug. 31.
Abbie Wilks, Naomi Mueller and Danika Sloper recorded three kills apiece as their team defeated the Wildcats 25-20, 25-16, 15-13.
“There were lots of learning experiences for the girls, and now we have a better idea on where we are and what we need to focus on going forward,” Coach Aubree Gibson said.
Danika dished out six assists in the effort, Allie Zook had five digs and Sami Sindt served four aces for the Lumberjacks.
Up Next: St. Maries JV (1-0) travels to Wallace Wednesday (today) for a makeup date of the previously-scheduled Aug. 26 match with the Miners. Action begins at 5:30 p.m. at Wallace. The team is slated to travel to Orofino Saturday for a noon start.
