Garrett Renner has won seven of the nine triple jump events he has entered this season.

His most recent sent him to state with more than a foot to spare.

Garrett’s distance of 39-11.75 came in well ahead of second place, Chase Burke of Kendrick (38-11.50) and marked one of his three state berths at this week’s 1A championships.

“We had a good weekend,” Coach Doug Napierala said. “The kids did really well, and should be proud of their performances.”

Amanda Wine was the second Warrior to earn a spot at state as her personal-best shot toss of 31-04.50 was good enough for an at-large bid.

Kootenai will travel to Middleton High School Friday for the 1A State Track and Field Championships.
