Two big innings sunk St. Maries baseball’s season May 11.

The Lumberjacks faced Cole Valley in a 2A state play-in game at Orofino High School, where the Lumberjacks jumped out to an early 2-0 lead through two innings.

Cole Boag and Shaun Anderson each crossed home plate to give the Jacks their advantage.

The Chargers scored four runs in the fifth and three in the sixth as St. Maries’ season ended on a 2-7 defeat.

Kaden Hammond fanned two batters in one inning of work. Ethan Hill and Shaun each struck out one in the loss.

Derek Larson went 2-4 batting, Cole Boag was 2-3 with a run and Tyler 1-3 with one RBI.

St. Maries closes its season on an 8-5 record.
