St. Maries’ football team returns to the field Friday after missing three games due to the district’s school closure.

The Lumberjacks’ CIL game against Grangeville, originally scheduled for Oct. 8, has been moved to Oct. 29.

Grangeville sits at 1-0 in league standings following a 41-12 win over Orofino Oct. 16.

A St. Maries victory at Orofino Friday would set up a district title game between St. Maries and Grangeville Oct. 29, the winner qualifying for the 2A state football playoffs.

Should each CIL team finish league play at 1-1, the league would use the Ozzie tie breaker system, factoring the point differential each team won by, to determine a champion.
