St. Maries’ JV volleyball team finished its season having won three of its last four matches, including a victory over Orofino Oct. 18.

Naomi Mueller and Abbie Wilks had four kills apiece and Danika Sloper dished out 13 assists as the Lumberjacks won the match 25-5, 23-25, 15-7.

“The girls played very hard and came out with a win for our last game of the season,” Coach Aubree Gibson said. “Our serving was once again a huge factor in this game.”

The team won its first set with Grangeville Oct. 16 by a score of 25-3, but fell in the next two sets 17-25, 12-15.

“We came out really strong in the first set, but made errors and had more missed serves in the second and third,” Coach Gibson said.

Sami served eight aces in the effort and Naomi had six as their team dropped its second match of the season.

The girls defeated Timberlake 25-12, 25-11, 15-2 Oct. 14 behind 16 assists from Danika and seven digs from Allie.

“The girls came out ready to play and executed,” Coach Gibson said. “Our servers placed serves in open spots, and that made a huge difference in momentum and points. We played smart and hard all night.”

St. Maries JV closes its season with a 7-2 record.
