St. Maries' Middle School wrestling team won the district 1 championship last weekend in Priest River. It is the second consecutive title the Lumberjacks have won.

St. Maries’ middle school wrestling team had three district champions March 20 at Priest River.

The Lumberjacks landed 15 wrestlers on the podium out of the 17 that competed as they brought home their second consecutive team title.

Taking first place with perfect records were Jerrett Brebner (2-0), Zack Sotin (2-0) and Aiden Yearout (2-0).

Kelby Harvey (1-1), Zack David (2-1), Brock Barta (2-1), Kody Tefft (2-1), Landon Tweedy (2-1), Donny Morris (1-1) and Rustle Brusseau (2-1) each took second in their respective brackets.

Third place winners included Isaiah Gustaffe (1-1) and Jack Barta (2-1), and Beau Wentzel (2-2), Amado Stewart (3-2) and Logan Darnold (2-2) were fourth place earners.
