The Intermountain League-leading Coeur d’Alene Charter girls soccer team is set for a visit Wednesday (today) in what will be St. Maries’ third league contest of the season.

The Lumberjacks are coming off a win over Priest River last week that saw goalkeeper Jenna Holder to her first shutout of the season.

Jenna made eight saves in the victory that put her team at 1-1 in IML play going into Wednesday’s matchup.

Macie Rimel found the back of the net in the 26th minute, scoring the game-winning goal late in the first half. Maddie Johnson added an insurance goal early in the second half (32’) as her team held on for a 2-0 victory.

“Our defenders have worked so hard the last two games,” Coach Amber Morris said. “Our midfield stepped up and made this success happen, and the girls worked amazingly as a team.”

The team traveled to Lakeland Sept. 26 and suffered a 0-7 defeat. Jenna had eight saves in the effort.
