The Lakeside volleyball team looked for a season sweep of Genesis Prep Oct. 20 in the SIC’s first tournament semifinal.

The Knights, with a win, would advance to a championship match Thursday at Wallace.

The two teams are not far removed from one another, having played Oct. 15. Lakeside fell 15-25, 23-25, 19-25.

“This match was our best defensive outing of the year,” Coach Brad Veile said. “The biggest difference maker was our limited offense we mounted resulting in giving Wallace too many free balls.”

Kria Peters dished out 16 assists to go with three blocks and two digs, and Arianna Havier-Gorr had four kills and nine digs.

The girls swept Kootenai Oct. 13 by a score of 25-14, 25-20, 25-9. Kria had 18 assists and two kills and Tyshea Twoteeth added four kills and five digs in the win.

Upcoming: With a win Tuesday, Lakeside would face Wallace in a district championship match Thursday, beginning at 6 p.m. at Wallace High.
