Warriors welcome Wallace Thursday

Kayleigh Dorman looks to block a Mullan ball in the first set of Kootenai's match with Mullan Sept. 10.

Kootenai’s volleyball team took some momentum out of its straight-set loss to Lakeside Sept. 17.

The Warriors came away with 17 points in the third set of their 11-25, 2-25, 17-25 defeat.

“We really had to fight to stay in this game,” Coach Danyell Barden said. “We had too many dropped balls and shanks.”

Sarah Thaut had a team-high 16 digs to go with two kills, and Kayleigh Dorman added seven kills, six digs and one assist.

“Lakeside has a really strong server that really messed with the girls’ heads, but with perseverance they fought hard in the last match. They have worked really hard this week in practice and I think we will keep up.”
