Two Kootenai cross country runners made their debut last week at Potlatch.

Maddie Loucks and Aiden Braz both ran the 3200 meter course, Aiden finishing in the middle of the field with a time of 15:21, and Maddie coming in at 22:10.

Sophomore Jayden Hammons cut more than seven minutes off his previous time.

“Cross country is a tough sport, but when these kids put their minds to it and are dedicated, great things happen,” Coach Ashley Rauch said. “I’m pretty proud of these kids.”

The team travels to Troy Thursday.
