A matchup with Mullan opened Lakeside’s girls basketball district tournament Feb. 11.

The Knights swept the Tigers in regular-season play, outscoring their opponents by a combined total of 135-53.

A win Tuesday would send Lakeside to a championship game against either Genesis Prep or Clark Fork, Friday at 6 p.m. at North Idaho College.

Apart from Wallace, which counts toward North Star teams’ league records, Lakeside went undefeated in NSL play against 1AD2 teams this season, going 2-0 against Kootenai, Mullan, Genesis Prep and Clark Fork. Genesis Prep games did not count for Lakeside’s league record as the Jaguars played as an independent and entered the district tournament as the third-seed, regardless of record.

The Knights closed out the regular season at Wallace, losing 43-51.

Jolissa Holt led Lakeside with 11 points and Samantha Adrian added eight.

Lakeside 43, Wallace 51

LHS 7 15 10 11 43

WHS 13 15 11 12 51

J. Holt 11 pts.; Adrian 8 pts.; A. Holt 6 pts.; Gorr 6 pts.; Peters 5 pts.; Anderson 5 pts.; Middleton 2pts.

Upcoming: A win over Mullan would set up a district championship game Friday. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. at North Idaho College, where the winner would advance to the 1AD2 state tournament Feb. 20-22 at Nampa High School.
