St. Maries’ JV volleyball team improved to 5-1 Monday with a dominant victory over Troy.

The Lumberjacks got six digs from Allie Zook and 18 assists from Danika Sloper as they defeated the Trojans 25-22, 25-11, 15-8.

“The girls played very well tonight,” Coach Aubree Gibson said. “After coming off a quick hiatus I’m very proud of their level of play and aggressiveness in the game.”

Abbie Wilks and Tayla Janssen added four kills apiece for St. Maries, which hosts Timberlake Thursday at 5:30 p.m. and plays at noon Saturday at Grangeville.

St. Maries will host Orofino Monday in its final match of the season, beginning at 5 p.m. at St. Maries High School.
