SM seventh grade boys run away with Bonners win
St. Maries’ seventh grade boys basketball team grabbed a 14-point win Jan. 22 at Bonners Ferry.
The Lumberjacks, who improved to 2-1 with the 30-16 win, hosted Kellogg Jan. 26 and welcome Bonners Ferry for a rematch Friday.
“My guards did a great job driving to the basket and unselfishly passing to my bigs,” Coach T.J. Hammond said. “We started to convert some shots and built a lead by the fourth quarter. Brock Barta led the way defensively for us. His steals led to offense. It was a great team win with some great basketball lessons learned.”
Tipoff Friday with Bonners Ferry is set for 3:30 p.m. at St. Maries Middle School.
