Kootenai High School will not field a football team this fall.

The eight-man team that typically sees 10 to 15 players each August had six report to the first week of practice.

Kootenai students who signed up to play football this fall are eligible to play elsewhere.

The Warriors finished last season under Head Coach Doug Napierala, his 17th season as varsity’s head man, with a winning record (5-4). Notable victories came over Troy (44-14), Wallace (42-0) and Lakeside (58-6).
