St. Maries’ volleyball team overcame a slow start to earn its third win Oct. 10 at Bonners Ferry.

The Jacks managed to come away winners of the first set, 25-20, before taking the next two 25-21, 25-6.

“We started the night with a lack of communication,” Coach Rachele Fischer said. “But we were able to get warmed up and picked up the intensity and fed off each other’s successes.”

Sami Badgett led her team with 14 digs and Kirsten Miller added seven kills in the win that put their team at 3-4, 1-0 CIL going into an Oct. 13 match against Timberlake.

Upcoming: The girls will close out the regular season schedule with a pair of league contests this week, the first coming Wednesday at Orofino (6:30 p.m.) and the second a home match Saturday against Grangeville (1:30 p.m.)
