St. Maries’ JV boys basketball team capped its season with a one-point win at Timberlake Feb. 13.

Trace Wicks hit a late three-point shot to tie the game in the final minutes, and St. Maries went on to take a 42-41 win.

“He stepped up big time for us,” Coach A.J. Becktel said. “It was a great way to end our season. It’s been a lot of fun.”

The team blew out Orofino 62-30, Feb. 12 behind 20 points from Trace, 11 points from Dillon Holder and nine points from Jared Badgett.

St. Maries suffered its only loss Feb. 8 at Lapwai as a close first quarter turned into a 33-57 defeat.

The Jacks shot 13-57 from the field.

St. Maries’ JV boys finish their season with a 17-1 record.
