St. Maries’ girls basketball team will travel to Lapwai Saturday start its season.

The girls return Nov. 17 for their home opener against Lakeside. The JV game is set for 5:30 p.m. followed by varsity at 7 p.m.

The school will give 25 vouchers per team, two per player, this season. Following JV games, the gym will be cleared, and the 25-per team allowance will be admitted for the varsity contests.

Parents of a JV and varsity player will be required to leave the gym following JV games and re-enter the gym. for the varsity game.

Warrior sports on hold

Following Monday’s board meeting, the Kootenai winter sports season has been put on hold.

Athletic Director Doug Napierala said the decision was based on the uptick in coronavirus cases in Kootenai county.

A return date for the Warriors’ winter season has not yet been set.
