Lakeside’s volleyball team wrapped up its league schedule Tuesday, and till begin SIC tournament play next week.

The girls avenged a loss earlier in the season to Genesis Prep last week, defeating the Jaguars in five sets Oct. 5 by a score of 15-25, 27-25, 25-21, 24-26, 18-16.

“They’re definitely improving,” Coach Kim Duncan said. “They did a great job. Destiny (Lowley) and Arianna (Havier-Gorr) helped keep us in it and kept their teammates going.”

Chantell Luke led the Knights with 11 kills, Martina Rivera added seven kills and Arianna had three in the victory.

The team defeated Mullan in four sets Oct. 7, getting eight kills from Arianna as it improved to 4-6 going into its season finale with Wallace.

Up Next: Lakeside begins district tournament play next week with a trip to the state tournament up for grabs.
