St. Maries’ JV girls basketball team improved to 8-6 with a win over Kootenai Jan. 23.

Lexi Chappell led the Jacks with 12 points in their 38-26 win, followed by Lacie Sines and Trista Janssen with six apiece.

Bianney Ventura recorded five points as her team put up 18 points in the second quarter. Kassidi Scott added four points, Stormi Lockrige two, Berkli McGreal one and McKayla Spray one.

The team played at Potlatch Jan. 28, and hosts Grangeville Saturday for a 3 p.m. tipoff.
