A three-goal performance from the St. Maries girls soccer team was cut short Oct. 6.

The Lumberjacks’ league game with Priest River ended in a 3-3 draw ten minutes early due to a bird’s nest catching fire in the northeast field light.

St. Maries’ goals came from Kamryn Morris and Kylie Edwards, who each scored their first of the season. The Lumberjacks’ second goal came from a corner kick that deflected off a Spartan and into their net.

Hope Aasgard and Stacie Mitchell split time in the net Oct. 8 against Timberlake, Stacie recording six saves and Hope five in the 0-6 loss.

A final game came in the first round of districts as the girls face Bonners Ferry and were eliminated in a 0-4 loss.

Jenna Holder fought through injury and made four saves before being replaced by Stacie Mitchell, who made six saves.
