Kootenai’s cross country runners competed in Lewiston last week and shaved minutes off their respective times.
Eighth grade runner Maddie Murdock came in with a time of 13:56, and was credited by Coach Ashley Rauch for her recent efforts.
“She’s worked hard this season with a couple of setbacks,” Coach Rauch said, “but has really tried her best, and it showed Saturday.”
Sixth grader Annabelle Parrish finished in 13:27, passing two runners near the finish line as the middle school runners wrapped up their season.
Jayden Hammons dropped multiple minutes from his previous time, coming in at 29:32.
“All his hard work is certainly paying off,” Coach Rauch said. “He’s doing his best and constantly making improvements.”
Kootenai’s high school runners will compete against White Pine League cross country teams at the district championships in Lewiston Oct. 21.
