St. Maries’ middle school wrestling team went a combined 42-17 Nov. 14 at Post Falls.

Donny Morris, Jerrett Brebner, Trey Gibson and Alexzander Lambson led the Lumberjacks, each compiling 3-0 records on the evening.

Allen Wise, Carter Moore, Kieson Watts, Scott Sotin, Zander Stump, Jack Barta and Roan Ford each were 2-0 for St. Maries.

Landon Tweedy and Rustle Brusseau were 3-1 and 2-1, respectively.

Michael Stewart earned two wins against two losses, and wrestlers splitting their matches at 1-1 included Brock Barta, Amado Stewart, Brock Anderson, Kaiden Morris, Zack Sotin, Xavier Sloper, Madelynn Johnson and Gavin Wemhoff.

Travis Wunderlich and Kody Tefft each went 1-2.

The Lumberjacks competed in a dual format against River City and Sandpoint Nov. 12.

St. Maries defeated Sandpoint 51-37, and overcame a 6-34 deficit against River City to claim a 48-43 victory.

“I think the kids took advantage of an opportunity to show what St. Maries wrestling is made of,” Coach Josh Harvey said. “They got behind each other and supported their teammates in a big way through all the wins, and especially the losses.”

Zack, Michael, Aiden Yearout, Landon, Kieson, Alexzander, Roan and Gavin each won their matches in the Jacks’ win over Sandpoint.

Zack, Carter, Jerrett, Kieson, Scott, Alexzander, Roan and Gavin won against River City.

The team traveled to Priest River Nov. 19, and will host its lone home event of the season Thursday at St. Maries Middle School. Matches begin at 4 p.m.
