A pair of Kootenai track and field athletes qualified for finals in their state events May 17 and 18.

Amanda Wine threw 31-02.00, good for tenth place in shot put, and Garrett Renner earned an appearance in three separate events.

Garrett took sixth in both the high jump, with a height of 5-06.00, and triple jump, with a distance of 40-00.50.

He also earned a finals spot in long jump, where he finished 12th with a mark of 18-04.50.

“As always the state meet has great competition, and both Amanda and Garrett competed well,” Coach Doug Napierala said. “The weather was not the greatest during their events, but both did a great job.”
