The Idaho Department of Fish and Game reminds hunters to submit their annual mandatory hunter reports.
The report is geared towards hunters who purchased a tag in 2022 for elk, deer or pronghorn. These hunters are asked to submit a report even if they did not fill their tags or hunt.
The IDFG said on its website the report is a quick and easy questionnaire about a hunter’s season.
According to the IDFG, hunters are required to submit a report 10 days after harvest, or if a hunter did not harvest, 10 days after the closing of their tag’s season.
The reports are aimed to gauge the health of herds across Idaho and assess hunting pressure in various regions. Additionally the IDFG says the report help to set season and rules for the next year’s hunting season.
The questionnaire will cover some things like what weapon was used, the number of days hunted, regions hunted in and more. Hunters who harvested an animal will be asked about the sex of the animal and whether it had antlers and the number of points.
To file a hunters report, call 1-877-268-9365 or visit the IDFG website at idfg.idaho.gov.
