A fatal crash near Fourth of July Pass involving two vehicles was reported by Idaho State Police last week. 

The  crash occurred around 10 p.m., Friday, June 17, at milepost 26.5 of Interstate 90 east of Wolf Lodge. 

The ISP reported a Volvo semi pulling a trailer driven by a 45-year-old male of Homestead, Fla, was traveling eastbound when it encountered a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 36-year-old female from Medimont traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes. The two vehicles collided head on. 

The ISP reported the driver of the Volvo and his 45-year-old female passenger from Homestead, Fla were transported to the hospital via ambulance. They were both wearing their seat belts. 

The driver of the Chevrolet was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash. She was wearing her seat belt. Next of kin have been notified. 

The road way was blocked for nearly three and a half hours after first responders arrived at the scene. 

The ISP has not released the names of those involved at this time.
